Former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Logistics) to Drive Growth in Public Sector
Dallas – January 31, 2010 – One Network Enterprises, a federated cloud computing platform for business intelligence, planning and execution, announced today the appointment of Major General John F. Phillips (U.S. Air Force, ret.), a distinguished federal-sector advisor, to its board of directors. In his advisory position, Gen. Phillips will focus on cloud computing issues for federal-sector clients and serve as One Network’s senior liaison with the Department of Defense.
Gen. Phillips has more than 30 years of comprehensive acquisition, aviation, information technology (IT), logistics and leadership experience. In addition to his distinguished military career, he served as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Logistics), overseeing an organization of 850,000 military and civilian personnel with a budget of $114 billion. In this capacity, he was responsible for establishing a major, precedent-setting outsourcing and privatization program for the Federal government.
“Gen. Phillips clearly has a wealth of expertise across a wide range of Defense operations,” said Greg Brady, Chairman and Founder, One Network. “As we continue to expand our presence in the government sector, Gen. Phillips’ insights and experience will be very valuable in helping guide One Network in the years ahead.”
“One Network’s innovative solutions and track record with the Defense Department’s transportation initiative and the Marine Corps automated ammunitions initiative has set a new standard for technology providers,” said Gen. Phillips. “I am looking forward to working with Greg and One Network’s board because they are uniquely qualified to handle many of government’s most challenging IT issues.”
